Are your Glasses safe to use and certified? (ISO, CE)

Yes! Our glasses are ISO 12312-2 compliant. This means they have met rigorous safety testing standards and are safe to use for viewing the Sun. (See the screenshot of the manufacturer test report in the product photos). We can provide you with a copy of the report by emailing sales@solareyewear.ca

How do the Glasses work?

The glasses filter out 100% of harmful ultra-violet and infrared rays and 99.999% of intense visible light.

Why do you need Eclipse Glasses?

Looking at the sun without eclipse glasses will severely damage your eyes. They are required for safe viewing of the eclipse experience. Please do not attempt to view the Sun or the eclipse without glasses. These are not replacements to normal everyday sunglasses. More safety inflation can be found here.

Why purchase from solareyewear.ca?

We currently sell our Eclipse Glasses in bulk to keep costs down. These glasses are certified and made in the USA. Our company is, recognized by the American Astronomical Society's Solar Eclipse Task Force as a supplier of safe solar viewers/filters. They are individually packaged and ready to sell or distribute at retail stores, school fundraisers, offices, and gifts to friends and family.

Are we the manufacturers of the Glasses?

No,we are not the manufacturers of the glasses. The glasses are imported by one of the most reputable solar eclipse glasses companies in USA, American Paper Optics. They are a NASA recommended manufacturer.

What are the dimensions of the Display Box?

The dimensions of the closed box are 43cm (length) x 11.5cm (width) x 5.5cm (height) [17 x 4.5 x 2.2 inches].

When should I place an order?

The ideal time to order is before the October 14th, 2023, Annular eclipse. This way, the glasses can be used for both the Annular Eclipse in October and the Total Eclipse in April 2024. During the 2017 eclipse, glasses became very difficult to purchase, and prices tended to increase approximately 8 weeks leading up to the eclipse date.

Is there a discount for bulk orders?

Contact us at sales@solareyewear.ca to discuss special discounts for bulk
orders such as for schools and fundraisers.

How are orders shipped and what is the shipping time?

We utilize local Canadian shipping options, and a tracking number will be provided. Shipping speed is usually between 3 to 9 business days, depending on the location.

Do you ship internationally?

No we only ship within Canada.

Do you accept returns?

All sales are final. We do not accept returns or offer refunds, as we cannot guarantee the handling of the glasses once they have been delivered.

What if a pair of Glasses is damaged?

Glasses are visually checked before shipping, but if you are not sure if a pair of glasses is damaged, when received, please email us within 7 days of receiving the order, sales@solareyewear.ca.

How does the Donations work?

Due to the large volume of requests from schools to provide free glasses for students and staff, we have created an option to make a donation, where all proceeds (minus the Shopify Payment fee ~3%) will be used to provide free glasses to schools in need. A fixed rate of $3.50 will be used to convert the dollar amount donated into the number of glasses donated.

For large donations, we would be happy to provide you with the name of the school to which the glasses were donated. Email us at sales@solareyewear.ca if you have any questions.
